A multi-biometric terminal reads both face and fingerprint, which matters because no single biometric enrols cleanly for an entire workforce. Office staff can use face; site staff whose ridges have worn can use whichever works for them.
Worth knowing before you buy. Buying one dual-mode terminal is almost always cheaper than fitting two devices at the same door and enrolling everybody twice. The trap is treating it as a face terminal with a spare sensor — decide during installation which group uses which method, and configure it that way.
